about meI am a wife to Robert Farina Jr., and a mother to my 7 year old son, Niko, and 4 year old daughter, Halo. I enjoy being outdoors, dancing, music, reading, word games, and movies. Some of my favorite books include: The Giver, The View From Saturday, The Hatchet, and The Color Purple. A few of my many favorite movies include: The Gladiator, Meet Joe Black, Bridesmaids, and The Help. My passions in life include teaching, and leading a healthy lifestyle. I absolutely love to learn. Anything that will serve to improve my craft as a teacher...I want to know it, and perfect it. American actress, Eartha Kitt, once said something that describes my passion for learning and teaching. She said, “I am learning all the time. The tombstone will be my diploma.”

Educational philosophyFor my parents,
I believe teachers are the most powerful beings on this planet. They have the power to forever effect and change the trajectory of each and every one of their students’ lives. Children of all ages deserve to spend the better part of their day at a place in which they look forward to being. I bring positive light to my students' day, and create productive, trusting classrooms. Equally important to the classroom climate is expectation. I give children the opportunity and the expectation to succeed. All children can learn and my expectations are high. For my students, I believe in you. Although your success is largely in your hands, I will do all I can to lead you along the way. Like the Olympic Tragedy below, there may be times that you are down, hurt, and feel you are ready to give up, but I will be here pushing you, and holding you up. Remember though, in the end, you will eventually reach the finish line. It is my intention to get you there and let go just in time for you to cross it on your own two feet. when you feel like giving up...dig deeper. |
